character information
● name: Jade Harley
● canon: Homestuck
● canon point: end of Act 7, just after John opens the victory door
● age: 16
● (canon) background: MSPA wiki
● abilities:
- Plant Growth - She can make plants bloom and/or grow rapidly by playing the electric bass for them. This comes up exactly twice, early in the story, and is never brought up again. I have no idea why she has this ability. The growth doesn't happen rapidly enough for combat applications, and encouraging the growth requires playing a pleasant tune for a prolonged period.
- Sylladex - Like most characters in Homestuck, Jade has a sylladex, an inventory system utilizing a personal pocket dimension. Ordinarily the stashed items can only be retrieved through use of a "fetch modus" (aka performing a specific activity). However, Jade appears to have learned to somehow bypass the usual need for a fetch modus and can stash or retrieve things purely at will--likely due to her space manipulation abilities. Canon plays pretty fast and loose with sylladex capabilities, but for game purposes I'll be limiting hers to only being able to contain inanimate objects which don't exceed the size or weight of a car.
For simplicity's sake, she'll arrive with an empty sylladex. - God Tier - Jade died while fulfilling a specific set of conditions, causing her to revive and level up to "god tier", which granted her a couple perks:
- Flight - She can fly, including while carrying another person about her own size.
- Conditional Immortality - God tiers can only die permanently if their death would be considered "heroic" or "just". Otherwise they revive a few minutes after dying. This is overpowered and arguably the "heroic" and "just" judgments are assigned pretty arbitrarily even within canon, so I'm nerfing this away.
- Space Powers - As a god-tier'd "Witch of Space" Jade has abilities utilizing the aspect of "space". This is more than simple control over spatial properties: aspects in Homestuck cover metaphysical concepts as well as the more obvious connotations. A lot of the metaphysical side strays deep into authorial meta, however--stuff like her overall role in canon's narrative--soooo... I'm sticking to the spatial properties side for her in-game abilities.
And then she's also merged with her space-bending dog. The merge happened at the same time as coming into full realization of her own space-y powers, and she herself states that she's not sure where one set of powers leaves off and the other begins. There is a difference: her space aspect powers are innate to her, while her dog's space-bending is due to having a connection to the "Green Sun". The Green Sun is a magical star around which all universes and dimensions orbit. Having a connection to it grants what canon calls "omnipotence", but in function it seems to be closer to "incredibly powerful space-bending" than true omnipotence. There are things its powers cannot grant control over (such as time or death), and there are also places between realities which do not fall fully under its domain. The Green Sun was destroyed shortly before her canon point, meaning she would have lost access to some powers shown in canon. Due to contextual clues I think her teleporting and ability to resize things may have been granted solely by the Green Sun, while her telekinesis seems to be more an innate ability which the Green Sun greatly enhanced. I've removed both teleportation and resizing completely, and decreased her telekinetic abilities a good bit.- Locating - She has a really good intuition when it comes to guessing where things are. In canon she always picked matching cards on her first try when playing the Memory card game. She does have to have a good feel for what she's looking for though, so she needs to be familiar with at least some aspect of her target. Opposing magic can block this ability: due to interference from his Green Sun powers, her locating didn't work on her dog back before they merged. It's also only guessing: while she's never shown to guess incorrectly with it in canon, it's still possible that she could. She displayed this ability long before merging with her dog, so this one is definitely innate to her.
- Telekinesis - Canonically, Jade's able to levitate a full-sized battleship and then fly it at just under the speed of light for three years straight. When pulling particularly impressive stunts, such as with that battleship, she and/or the moved object glow green, suggesting she's drawing on the Sun's power then, but there isn't always glowing when levitating baseball-sized objects. This is probably an innate ability to some degree, but greatly enhanced by the Green Sun. Due to the Green Sun's destruction, I'm nerfing her telekinetic capabilities down to a lifting limit of a few hundred pounds and top speed of about 10 mph.
- Resizing - In canon, she's able to shrink planets down to baseball size within seconds, as well as later returning them to full size. The targets glow green when being resized, so this is likely a Green Sun-granted ability. I'm making a judgement call that she lost this power entirely when the Green Sun was destroyed.
- Teleportation - Jade can teleport herself, items, or other people to and from pretty much anywhere, though she can't teleport stuff across dimensions. There don't appear to be any limitations on size in canon, with her exchanging the locations of two full-sized planets at one point. Stuff always glows green when teleported, and she can also function as a one-way portal to the Green Sun itself--meaning this is almost certainly Green Sun-granted. Again, I'm making a judgement call that she lost access to this power with the Green Sun's destruction.
- Canine Senses - Since becoming part dog, she has a greatly improved sense of smell, to the point she can tell when someone she knows has been nearby recently.
● strengths:
- Strong-Willed - She relies on her strength of will to face down stuff that she might find intimidating otherwise--if a thing must be done, well then she'll just hafta suck it up and do it! She easily stood firm when a stubborn friend tried to talk her out of an inconvenient (but useful) password system she'd set up to avoid temporally non-linear conversations.
- Caring - She's not only willing to risk her life for her friends, but actually does die at one point in the process of saving one. She feels concern for others' well-being and wants to do what's best for them. (What she believes is best for them might not match up with what they believe, though...) She also tries not to burden others with her own problems.
- Intelligent - She processes new information and concepts quickly. She figured out how to utilize someone else's time travel abilities to cram several weeks' worth of frog breeding into a far shorter amount of time, and also successfully implemented several plans that played out across centuries and/or the literal boundaries of universes.
- Enthusiastic - Enthusiasm permeates everything she does, causing her to throw herself wholeheartedly into projects. She approaches problems and pastimes alike with energy and tries to maintain an upbeat, can-do attitude. She gets excited about most things.
● weaknesses:
- Self-Reliant - What? Surely this is a strength, right? Unfortunately she's so accustomed to being self-reliant that she has a poor grasp on the concept "someone else could do this". It often doesn't occur to her to request assistance unless the need for collaboration is GLARINGLY obvious. And if something's amiss and she can't at least assist, she can feel at fault.
- Insensitive - While she does care a great deal about others, she lacks a delicate touch. She is aware of this, and she tries to be sympathetic, but... she's very problem-solving oriented, and gets frustrated if there is no real solution. Her frustration only increases if the reaction to a truly unsolvable problem isn't "oh well, guess this is just gonna be a thing :T" and moving on--and having that reaction to a problem she still deems solvable is just as bad.
- Memory Issues - She used to tie colorful strings to her fingers to jog her memory, but eventually she forgot what the strings meant as well and gave up on that system. She's not absentminded exactly, so much as she has a tendency to get too many long-term projects going simultaneously and can't keep up with all of them.
- Impractical - She wore an evening gown to go muck about in the wilderness on a frog breeding expedition, and placed important machinery based on aesthetics rather than whether her friend could actually reach them--and though she did later decide to make access easier, she was a bit saddened because the equipment had looked so nice where it was. Basically, she's a rather silly person, and while this makes her fun company at times, it also makes her frustrating to deal with at others.

recently a bunch of us convinced a big creature named liam to move further away from the city. as far as i know, he wasnt hurting anything! people just worried he might by accident due to being so big. im worried about him though, because there were a bunch of smaller creatures chomping on him! :(
does anyone know more about them? they weren't always bothering liam so im hoping there will be other stuff they can eat in the new location. i also want to figure out some kind of repellent to encourage them to go looking for non-liam foods, but im not sure what theyd find unappealing. i really dont want to kill them!!! they cant help being hungry and i dont think theyre doing liam serious harm.
